Discuss and practice rescue scenarios common on Interior Alaska lakes and rivers. You will practice self-rescue including defensive and offensive swimming. You will also rescue a capsized boat and its paddlers. You will learn and practice appropriate throw rope use and rescue other swimmers. This course should not be confused with a swift water rescue class; we will not be practicing in big water or rapids.
